Wooden House Name Plates using Sapele
Pronounced Sa peel e, this species is another of the world's most extraordinary hardwoods. Its rich, lustrous, and variable reddish-brown color give it a mahogany-like appearance. However unlike most mahoganies, Sapele has substantially less movement in service. It is also even harder than oak. Should always be maintained with oil or varnish.

Lettering
The letters are first cut into thick rubber stencils which are applied to the Oak. The design is then carved out by sandblasting and the letters can be painted white, black, bright blue, navy blue or green. We can use most common fonts and do have a wide selection available. 
On the sign above the letters and border have been left raised and the background was blasted away. For more contrast the letters can be stained black before blasting the background away.

Pictures and Borders
We can include simple pictures on the signs. We have a selection or you can send in your own artwork - It must be a simple image without any very fine lines or shades. The cost is £10 per image. A line border, with or without indented corners can also be included - £5.00

Sizes
The Standard Sizes (Styles SJ-SO) are on 4" 100mm high sapele and 6" 150mm high sapele in all UPPER CASE or Upper and Lower Case. On the 6" Sapele there is the choice of one or two lines. On the Standard Sizes the length depends on the number of letters.
The alternative method is  'Made to Measure'. Here you choose the size of the timber which can be up to 12inches / 300mm high.  The wording can be laid out any way you choose.

If none of the above styles suit your requirements, or if you want a sign of a specific size we also offer a made to measure service. Please note that with 4" high and 6" high signs the timber is approx 15mm thick and on large signs it is 20mm thick. For more substantial signs we suggest you consider oak which is at least 25mm thick and also quarter sawn for added stability

Shaping, holes, chains, posts, brackets and double sided.
We can shape the sign in simple ways, eg shape it as an arrow or round the corners. Holes can be drilled if requires and chains & fixings for hanging signs can be provided.
