Wooden House Signs using Air Dried English Oak
The English oak has a majesty all of its own, with wonderful variations in grain, texture and colour and  often small pin knots and burrs are an attractive feature. It is a heavy wood and is strong and durable. Providing it is maintained it will last a lifetime.

Lettering
The letters are first cut into thick rubber stencils which are applied to the Oak. The design is then carved out by sandblasting and the letters can be painted black, bright blue, navy blue or green. Letter size is normally adjusted to suit the sign, but if you have something particular in mind - just let us know.

Pictures and Borders
We can include simple pictures on the signs. We have a selection CLICK HERE - or you can send in your own artwork - It must be a silhouette style image without any very fine lines or shades. The cost is £10 per image. A line border, with or without indented corners can also be included - £5.00

Sizes
The Standard Sizes (Styles J-O) are on 4" 100mm high oak and 6" 150mm high oak in all UPPER CASE or Upper and Lower Case. On the 6" oak there is the choice of one or two lines. On the Standard Sizes the length depends on the number of letters.

The alternative method is  'Made to Measure'. Here you choose the size of the timber which can be up to 27inches / 675mm high.  The wording can be laid out any way you choose. For details of Made to Measure Oak Signs Click Here

Shaping, holes, chains, posts, brackets and double sided.
We can shape the sign in simple ways, eg shape it as an arrow or round the corners. Holes can be drilled if requires and chains & fixings for hanging signs can be provided. If you want the sign to be double sided the letters on the reverse will be £1.10 each.
