This is by far the most popular tye of wood we use. Oak is a heavy wood and is also strong and durable. If maintained well it will last a lifetime. Signs are made to order with the wording and font of your choice the more popular fonts are available to view on our site. You can also add a picture or border to your sign, again we can use one our own or one supplied by yourselves at an extra cost. Wehave standard sizes available plus signs can be made to measure.

 | Iroko Name Plate -
Iroko, similar to teak in appearance is an extremely dense and stable timber. I is naturally oily and therefore highly durable and ideal for external signs. It is a timber which can be left untreated. |

 | Sapele Signs -
Its rich, lustrous, and variable reddish-brown color give it a mahogany-like appearance. However unlike most mahoganies, Sapele has substantially less movement in service. It is also even harder than oak. |

 | Driftwood Effect Signs
These are very unusual and really do show the beauty of the grain. The letters are proud and the background is sand blasted away leaving the driftwood effect. |

These are made in oak, rustic, cherry, sapele and iroko. They are available in a varity of sizes, fonts and can be done with or without borders. |

 | Douglas Fir - Ideal for large Signs
Douglas Fir is characterized by exceptional strength, hardness and durability. It is not only very tough but also water resistant, which makes it useful in exposed situations where maintainence is difficult. |

 | Red Cedar - Ideal for large wooden signs
Cedar has a high tannin content producing excellent weathering properties. The timber also has a very short grain resulting in minimal checking and warping. Extremely durable for many years of use.
The timber can be oiled for a rich finish or left untreated to weather to a beautiful silver grey colour. |

Our elegant range of wooden house signs is ideal for smaller signs or when fine detail is required. We can use delicate fonts and borders along with images with finer detail and even line drawings. We can also engrave the lettering as small as 10mm so these signs are ideal if several words are needed. |
