By using a combination of traditional and modern crafting methods - we can achieve any desired finish to a high-quality standard - something we are proud to offer at The Sign Maker. After a period of design and development, our team came up with these painted slate signs that are crafted in reverse of the original slate signs we made onsite.
Slate is a beautifully classic material, yet when partnered with contemporary craftsmanship, it can look quite different! The Signs are coated in a hard-wearing two-pack paint before the lettering is sandblasted or laser engraved into the slate - leaving you with lettering that stands out from the painted background. The results we can produce are stunning - and we know that you’d walk away from us with a sign to be proud of!
Standard Slate Signs
Though contemporary slate signs are a favourite of ours, slate is a versatile material. This allows us to create house signs, business signs and memorials from slate to a finish that matches what you're looking for. We can craft a variety of shapes and sizes, designs with borders, images and numerous fonts, and we strive to ensure our signs are of the highest quality.
We also stock several different types of slate, giving you plenty of options to choose from! Our Superior Welsh Slate is considered, by many, one of the best slates there is. Harder and more durable with a good lifespan, this might be a good choice if you're looking for a particularly long-lasting house sign. Another slate we offer is the Lakeland Green Slate. Cut for us from a small quarry in The Lake District, we have also seen this be a popular choice since we began using it at The Sign Maker for various signage.
