In our engraving workshops at The Sign Maker the coloured anodised aluminium is one of the most popular materials. We use it for both small house signs, informational signs & memorial plaques. There are a  number of reasons for this. It is very attractive and quite modern looking, the text can be small if required, the images or borders can be quite intricate and line drawings can be used. Another point in favour of these engraved plaques  is that they are low maintenance - no polishing required! The engraving is usually lasered for white lettering but can be deep engraved for silver letters.
