Secondary Evacuation Route Sign
Fire exit sign - arrow left.
Available in 3 different sizes, GM - 100 x 300mm, JP - 150 x 400mm & KR - 200 x 600mm, and 4 different materials, white self adhesive vinyl, white rigid PVC, photoluminescent self adhesive vinyl or photoluminescent rigid PVC.
These signs conform to BS ISO, 7010:2011 - Graphical Symbols - Safety colours and safety signs. Guidance for their use is given in BS 5499 Part 4 - Code of practice for escape route signing. Any existing "text only signs" do not comply with the Health and Safety (Safety Signs and Signals) Regulation 1996 and must be replaced or have a running man pictogram positioned alongside them.
The Primary evacuation route is the normally used access to a place of safety while the Secondary route is often not the normal route but can be used as an alternative escape to a place of safety in the event of an emergency.
Graphical symbols only can be used to upgrade text only signs or where text may not be appropriate.
