For a natural timber finish, choose oak or iroko with painted or carved lettering. Painted ladder signs are usually made from Sapele hardwood, which provides a smooth, high-quality painted finish. Tricoya sign panels are also available and offer exceptional stability, weather resistance and durability.

Hardwood posts provide the most durable option, while treated softwood posts offer a more economical alternative. Metal post holders can also be used to keep the timber posts above ground level and help extend their lifespan.

Our painted signs are finished with a durable two-component polyurethane paint. Standard colours include Black, White, Farrow & Ball Purbeck Stone and Farrow & Ball Lichen, with several additional colours and custom colour matching also available.
