Scalloped Edge Oak House Signs

For something a little different from a standard flat-edged wooden sign, our scalloped edge oak signs have a shaped decorative edge that adds extra character and gives the sign a more traditional, crafted appearance. The scalloped edge works particularly well with carved and painted lettering and can also be requested on many of our other wooden sign styles.

Oak is one of our most popular timbers for house signs, thanks to its attractive grain, warm natural colouring and exceptional strength. Every piece of oak is different, so variations in grain, knots and tone give each finished sign its own individual character.

Oak is naturally strong and durable and, when properly maintained, will give many years of service outdoors. We recommend protecting the timber with a suitable exterior oil or varnish, with a satin varnish being an excellent choice if you want to retain the natural appearance of the oak while providing good weather protection.

Each sign is individually made to order in our North Devon workshops
