Product Description

These slate plaques with rough, random edges are truly unique, each one handcrafted into irregular shapes using a hammer and chisel. Available in two thicknesses and two sizes, they offer a distinctive look but do cost more than square-edged slate due to the time and craftsmanship involved. The 20mm thick plaques are ideal as house signs. They are all perfect for memorials and would be perfect for a natural burial ground. Lettering can be left unpainted or it can be laser etched if paint is a problem.

The slate memorial or sign can be left unpainted  although they are usually painted white but we do have a range of colours. The colour match Farrow and Ball Purbeck Stone is very effective as is black.

An alternative to deep engraving and painting is to just laser etch on the surface. This is usually chosen when there is a large amount of wording - firstly because the lettering becomes to small to deep engraved and secondly it is cheaper. Sometimes we do a combination - deep engraved lettering with detailed laser etched image. This slate was laser engraved.

There is also a large choice of fonts to choose from. We can also add an image either your own or one of our standard images as required.

We aim to make your slate sign or memorial  just the way you want it - specify any extra details in the box entitled 'notes'

Random edged slate memorial tablet.
