With its rich reddish-brown colour gives has a mahogany-like appearance. Sapele is also wood even harder than oak, making it a good choice for a house sign. It is also a good value wooden sign.  Sapele is not quite as durable as oak or iroko so should always be well maintained with either oil or varnish, satin varnish is recommended. We also finish with a woodcare milk to extend the life of the varnish.
