These modern slate signs are a great way to combine a traditional material while adding a modern method. The background of the sign is sand blasted away, leaving the raised lettering. For this sign to be successful you do need to choose a bold style font. The background of the sign can be left natural, which is a lighter grey then the lettering or it can be painted.
