Douglas Fir is a very durable timber - hard, strong and most importantly for memorial plaques - water resistant. This makes it very useful in exposed situations. We use timber which is planed down to approximately 33mm
It has the advantage over oak, in that even if not maintained, it will still remain legible. When oak if just left, it will eventually go black. It should be noted that Douglas Fir can have hairline cracks which are a feature of the timber.
We can also mount the plaque onto a stake if required. The cost of the stake option will include the extra postage.
Lettering can as small as 10mm.
