Sweet Chestnut can be an interesting alternative to oak. With its high tannin  content it makes for a very durable wood sign. The grain of the timber is very similar to that of oak, with a fairly dense grain.

This timber can be left untreated and in most cases will weather down to a beautiful silver grey colour. Alternatively you can choose to treat your sign with any of our treatment options.

You can make your wooden sign truly unique with a wide selection of fonts and images to choose from.

We can make larger signs and cut the signs into simple shapes eg arch top and ovals. Tell us what you are looking for and we will sent you a quote and a proof drawing.

- Our chestnut signs are a great cost-effective alternative to oak. The grain of the timber is similar to oak and it's high tannin content makes the chestnut very durable. Unlike oak it does not go black if not maintained. An excellent timber for smaller wooden signs.
